• Plan type: Principal primarily offers PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) dental plans, available in all 50 states. Pre-paid and DHMO designs are available in select states.
• How it works: You can see any licensed dentist, but you save more when you visit an in-network provider. In-network dentists agree to negotiated rates, which lowers your out-of-pocket costs.
